Steps

1. Navigate “Tools > Import” and select whether to import customers or suppliers

2. Select and upload the CSV contact file from your computer

3. Match the fields in Clear Books with the appropriate rows on the CSV file

4. Confirm the import

You can import contacts from a CSV file into Clear Books as suppliers or customers. In this example we will be importing contacts as customers.

Step 1.

Navigate “Tools > Import”. Select whether to import the contacts as customers or suppliers.

Step 2.

Upload the contacts CSV file from your computer.


Step 3.

After uploading the CSV you will come to the field match up screen where data from the CSV file needs to be lined up with the appropriate fields in Clear Books.

The correct fields from the drop down menus need to be lined up with those from the example data (which is taken from the CSV).

If a field is not relevant use the drop down option of “Ignore”.

If like in the data used in this example the first line of data is a heading then select “Exclude Header”.

Once you are happy with everything click “Import”.

Step 4.

On the following screen you will see a sample of the contacts to be imported with a “Confirm Import” button beneath.

If imported successfully a confirmation message with the number of contacts imported will appear.
