{"id":22710,"date":"2015-02-19T11:36:52","date_gmt":"2015-02-19T11:36:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.clearbooks.co.uk\/?p=22710"},"modified":"2015-07-24T09:38:25","modified_gmt":"2015-07-24T08:38:25","slug":"final-accounts-is-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clearbooks.co.uk\/blog\/final-accounts-is-here\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Accounts is here!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we\u2019re launching Final Accounts, a new online accounting solution enabling businesses\u2019 final accounts to be prepared using information directly from Clear Books\u2019 cloud accounting software.<\/p>\n<p>Final Accounts has been built in consultation with accountants and user experience designers and is now in its final beta testing phase. During this period, while we get \u2018real-world\u2019 feedback and iron out any last bugs, the product is only available to Clear Books accountants and will be free to use.<\/p>\n<p>At this stage, Final Accounts will only deal with<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icaew.com\/en\/technical\/financial-reporting\/other-reporting-issues\/companies-act\/micro-entity-accounts-exemptions\"> micro entity accounts<\/a>, generally for those companies with a turnover of less than \u00a3632,000. This represents over 90% of our company users.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Final Accounts?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every accounting year companies produce a set of accounts which have to be sent to Companies House and HMRC.<\/p>\n<p>Reports and data have to be taken from the business\u2019s books, either in spreadsheet or printed format, and re-input into other software to produce the annual accounts in a format suitable for the Government.<\/p>\n<p>Our Final Accounts product will be integrated with Clear Books Accounting, meaning that users can produce a set of accounts straight from Clear Books in the<br \/>\nelectronic format required by Companies House and HMRC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the benefits?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full integration with Clear Books Accounting for profit &amp; loss and balance sheet data<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation that you qualify to complete accounts under micro accounts rules before you start<\/li>\n<li>Automatic \u2018tagging\u2019 of accounts data for iXBRL electronic submission<\/li>\n<li>Generation of optional abridged accounts for submission to Companies House.<\/li>\n<li>Directors\u2019 report<\/li>\n<li>Balance sheet<\/li>\n<li>Mandatory profit &amp; loss<\/li>\n<li>Detailed profit &amp; loss<\/li>\n<li>Directors\u2019 loans note<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s next?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the initial period of testing and feedback, we will start charging to use the product and Final Accounts will also be made available to small businesses. Depending on the level of feedback and interest, there is potential for a future release that deals with \u201cSmall Company\u201d accounts (not just Micro)<\/p>\n<p>Although not in the initial release we will be enabling direct submission of the accounts firstly to Companies House and then HMRC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Try it out!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can take a test drive of Final Accounts by signing into Clear Books Accounting \u00a0and clicking on the \u2018<strong>reports\u2019<\/strong> tab on your \u00a0dashboard.<\/p>\n<p>User feedback is essential in making Final Accounts as smooth as possible.
