{"id":25008,"date":"2015-12-08T11:58:12","date_gmt":"2015-12-08T11:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.clearbooks.co.uk\/?p=25008"},"modified":"2016-01-08T12:33:38","modified_gmt":"2016-01-08T12:33:38","slug":"auto-enrolment-payroll-software-for-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clearbooks.co.uk\/blog\/auto-enrolment-payroll-software-for-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Auto enrolment payroll software for 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Auto enrolment payroll software<\/h1>\n<p>We wanted to let our customers know about the work we\u2019re doing to ensure Clear Books payroll software will comply with the upcoming changes for workplace pensions.\u00a0This will mean you can auto-enrol\u00a0your employees straight from our\u00a0Payroll application.<\/p>\n<h2>What is auto enrolment?<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re a business owner you may be aware of the UK government\u2019s \u2018automatic enrolment\u2019 initiative, designed to help people save more money for later life through a compulsory workplace pension scheme.<\/p>\n<p>All employers in the UK will be legally required to enrol employees into a qualifying pension scheme and make contributions from your specific staging date. As an employer, you should have received communications from HMRC and the Pensions Regulator already, but more information can be found on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk\/en\/employers\">The Pensions Regulator\u2019s website <\/a>and on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clearbooks.co.uk\/resources\/must-reads\/a-guide-to-auto-enrolment\">Clear Books\u2019 guide to auto enrolment.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Who is affected?<\/h2>\n<p>Any employer who has at least one employee needs to follow the auto enrolment process.<\/p>\n<p>You must enrol workers who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are aged between 22 and the state pension age<\/li>\n<li>Earn at least \u00a310,000 a year<\/li>\n<li>Work in the UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To learn more about the minimum contribution amounts visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk\/employers\/contributions-funding.aspx\">Contributions and Funding page<\/a> of The Pensions Regulator\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>Some workers who do not meet the above requirements still have the option to opt in to a pension scheme, and as an employer you may be required to contribute to their scheme too.<\/p>\n<h2>How Clear Books payroll software can help you<\/h2>\n<p>In January we\u2019ll be releasing stage 1\u00a0of our auto enrolment capabilities. Clear Books will initially help you comply with these changes by allowing you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>add a pension scheme<\/li>\n<li>assign a pension scheme to each employee<\/li>\n<li>calculate deductions and show these on the payslip<\/li>\n<li>support net pay, relief at source and zero tax relief<\/li>\n<li>support calculations based on all pensionable pay and banded earnings<\/li>\n<li>run a report calculating whether employees are eligible jobholders, non-eligible jobholders or entitled workers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the future we\u2019ll also be adding support for exporting .csv files to pension providers, the ability to send communications to employees and also a change log to help you when declaring that you\u2019ve met your responsibilities.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Stage 1 <\/strong>(Updated on 7th January)<\/h2>\n<p>We have released <a title=\"Auto Enrolment Payroll Software - Stage 1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clearbooks.co.uk\/2016\/01\/07\/clear-books-auto-enrolment-features-stage-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">stage 1 of our auto enrolment plan<\/a>, which\u00a0highlights the\u00a0new auto enrolment features that are available to our Payroll users.<\/p>\n<p>Features include a new Payroll navigation structure, the ability to add a pension scheme suitable for auto enrolment, and the ability to set auto enrolment and pension details for all your employees.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Please check back for more updates as we release
