This will have important implications for all our customers who are running a payroll, so we thought we\u2019d give you a heads-up.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Incorrect Employee Data<\/h2>\n<p>Data held about employees by the employer will be cross checked against HMRC\u2019s database to ensure it is correct.<\/p>\n<p>According to HMRC, in the 2009\/10 tax year there were<\/p>\n<p>507 employees named Mr A. N. Other<br \/>\n128 Mr, Ms, or Mrs Dummy<br \/>\n824 people with surname \u201cUnknown\u201d<br \/>\n1,000 people with national insurance number AB123456<br \/>\n40 employees aged over 200 years old<\/p>\n<p>If your data doesn\u2019t match HMRCs, submissions of data to HMRC will fail. This can lead to penalties, frustration, panicked tickets to our support team, and all round bad karma.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s best to act now to ensure your employee\u2019s full name, gender, date of birth, and NI number is correct.
