To BE Broadband or not to BE Broadband? Not, at the moment<\/p>\n

If your broadband is provided by bethere.co.uk<\/a> then there is a possibility that your access to Clear Books is currently somewhat hit and miss.<\/p>\n

If this is the case then first and foremost please let BE support know that you cannot access clearbooks.co.uk or fubra.com on twitter @BEbroadband<\/a> or via their traditional support channels (0808 101 3430) or via their support forum<\/a> thread discussing this issue.<\/p>\n

We first noticed a problem on Monday and with feedback from our users we were able to establish a common theme: All affected customers were using BE Broadband.<\/p>\n

Online accounting relies on our customers being connected to the Internet but when an Internet Service Provider becomes a point of failure then the control over your access to our service is taken right out of our hands. Clear Books is running as normal for the majority of our users, unfortunately it is a problem at BE that is preventing them from routing its traffic through.<\/p>\n

For the technical minded there are work arounds: Use a proxy, VPN or SSH tunnel.<\/p>\n

For those that are not technical the only option is to access Clear Books from a different ISP e.g. BT, Virgin, Sky, Orange or TalkTalk by logging in at home v office, coffee shop, friend, mobile broadband etc.<\/p>\n

Not all BE customers are affected. For those that are affected not all websites have routing issues so you may be able to access bbc.co.uk and google.co.uk but not clearbooks.co.uk.<\/p>\n

Here is the latest update from BE support:<\/p>\n

\nThe issue has already being escalated and now our network team is trying to find another route for the packets in order to evade the affected hops. There are many people affected, so we are doing our best to resolve it as soon as possible.
\nAt that point we have no ETR.
