- hyperlingo ltdBefore using the import tool log in to your online banking account and download a copy of the statement you require to import in to Clear Books.
Step 1.
Navigate “Money > Import Tool”.
Step 2.
Under the Import Statement heading, select a Bank Account from the drop down list ‘Account for import:’

Browse for the file downloaded from your bank account and select the default payment method. The payment method can be changed as you explain each transaction.

Step 4.
Finally you will need to match the headers of the columns on your CSV file to the fields in Clear Books.
The required fields are Date, Description, Money In and Money Out (Amount if the column is combined).
You can assign a description to multiple columns.

Once the file is successfully imported the system will save this mapping. Therefore you won’t need to match the column headers to the fields each time you import.
If the statement template changes in the future you can unassign the mapping from the Tools > Import > Settings menu. Use the reset mapping guide for more help.
