Use this tool to calculate the VAT contained within a total amount, or the VAT charged on a net amount.

A change to the standard rate of VAT was announced in the pre budget report on 24 November 2008. Effective from 1 December 2008 for a period of 13 months, the standard rate of VAT is 15%. Prior to that date the standard rate of VAT was 17.5%.
