The Clear Books accounting software VAT calc is a tool that provides the calculation to remove VAT or add VAT to a given price.

The VAT rate for the UK currently stands at 20%.

A change to the standard rate of VAT was announced in the pre budget report on 24 November 2008. Effective from 1 December 2008 for a period of 13 months, the standard rate of VAT was 15%. Prior to that date the standard rate of VAT was 17.5%. Due to the variations in VAT rates in recent times we introduced this tool that lets you set your own VAT rate for the calculation.
