1. What do you do?
   Marble Construction specialise in all types of house extensions, loft conversions and renovations throughout Surrey, Hampshire and South West London. There are four business within the Marble Group: Marble Construction, Marble Electrical, Marble Plumbing and we’ve got a glazing company called Prospect Glazing.
2. How long has your company been in business?
   We were founded in 2007.
3. What is the size of your company?
   Three directors + contract workers.
4. Why did you decide to choose Clear Books for your online accounting?
   We looked at Sage, Kashflow and FreeAgent, but nothing was as cleanly designed and simple to use as Clear Books. Clear Books was inviting, and with its outstanding value for money, it was a decision to be made. We haven’t looked back since.
5. What were you using before you signed up to Clear Books?
   Word and Excel.
6. What were your views on going online with your accounting, prior to joining Clear Books?
   It’s a sign of the times. We knew it was an easier and cheaper way rather than investing in software that needed to be installed and only accessible on one computer. There was no apprehension at all.
7. How have those views now changed since using Clear Books (if at all)?
   Using Clear Books has confirmed that being online with our accounts is the only way. We get regular updates and new added features…for free! We can also have as many users on our one account at no extra cost! That’s something we would have to pay more for if we were using something like Sage!
8. Did you expect Clear Books to work out as well for you as it has done?
   Clear Books works like a charm. We can’t believe what great service we get for such a small cost.
9. How has your life and your business changed since you began using Clear Books?
   Using something like Project Analyst for the Marble Group, means that we can keep everything together in one place. For example invoices to customers to see how much a job was sold for. We also are able to see how much we spent on a job. We can see at the simple click of a button, exactly what money has been made or lost and consequently lets us know how to improve for our next project.
10. Which Clear Books feature could you not live without and why?
    The use of project statements allows us to see if we have made profit on a job or not.
11. What are your business plans for the future?
    To expand with at least another two businesses to the Marble Group.
12. How will Clear Books help in getting you there?
    The reporting functionality helps us to understand where to concentrate our efforts, money and investments. It allows us to see exactly how well our business is doing. This is a great visual aid, allowing us to view forecasts and prepare for the future.
13. If you were to recommend Clear Books to a friend or client, how would you describe us?
    Excellent value for money and a friendly team who offer immediate solutions to any queries you might have.
14. How has Clear Books helped you save time?
    The fact VAT is automatically worked out on invoicing to customers. Automatic statements provided at the end of each project letting us know how much money we have made/or lost.

    Clear Books provides online CIS filing to HMRC.
