What is Clear Books Labs?

Labs is an area within Clear Books for customers to test out new apps and integrations before they are generally released. The idea was conceived so that we could improve the software based on customer and staff suggestions and feedback.

As a customer, you have the opportunity to request new features through our Community Area — which are then prioritised depending on factors such as HMRC compliance deadlines, user popularity and the difficulty of implementation.

Some features we have explored in the past include Bank Feeds and P11D Items.

Bank Feeds

Automated bank feeds save you time by automatically importing your bank data directly into Clear Books at the click of a button.

Tax return

A simple way to automate your online tax returns directly to HMRC. Integrated with your Clear Books account, Tax pre-populates the required fields in your tax return forms directly from your Clear Books account.

Smart tables

Our smart tables support faster record fetching, filtering, sorting fixed headers (so you can always see them, even when scrolling tables with many records) and full-screen mode.

Dividends tool

The new dividends tool contains a share register to help you keep a track of new shares and share buy-backs, and gives you the ability to calculate and issue dividends to your shareholders based on share ownership structure and the total dividends set to be released.

P11D Items

The P11D tagging feature is useful for reporting benefits that aren’t put through the payroll application. It allows you or your employer to simply mark an expense as an item to be included in P11D forms.
