1. What do you do?
We create props and other creative ‘stuff’ for the events and entertainment industries.

2. How long has your company been in business?
10 years.

3. What is the size of your company?
3 full time staff, often up to 10 freelancers.

4. Why did you decide to choose Clear Books for your online accounting?
Had a hunt online and it looked good and user friendly, the price was right and after a trial run it was the clear winner.

5. What were you using before you signed up to Clear Books?
Grim and depressing excel spreadsheets.

6. What were your views on going online with your accounting, prior to joining Clear Books?
I’d been dreading having to ‘start all over again’ with my accounts. The prospect of having to learn a new system was unappealing and I was unsure whether it would be worth the money.

7. How have those views now changed since using Clear Books (if at all)?
Totally. It is well worth the money (especially with new features appearing all over the place) as it saves so much time. It is so simple to learn the basics that I was up and running in no time.

8. Did you expect Clear Books to work out as well for you as it has done?
Not at all. It has been a real joy (and I never thought I’d say that about an accounts package!)

9. How has your life and your business changed since you began using Clear Books?
I no longer dread doing the accounts!  Not only that but by being able to clearly see what money is where, what we owe, who owes us, etc etc it has allowed me to better understand how my business is working. I’ve had the confidence to take on two full time staff and my whole attitude to how the business is growing has changed. It couldn’t have been a better year.

10. Which Clear Books feature could you not live without and why?
The bank/paypal account import tool. We rarely use cash and so nearly all our business goes on though our bank accounts so by being able to bring them in at the click of a mouse saves ages.

11. What are your business plans for the future?
We’ve just moved premises to a unit 5 time the size of the last one and we’re looking to grow a whole new side to the business. It’s a really exciting year.

12. How will Clear Books help in getting you there?
Clear Books allows us to understand how the business is growing and that understanding gives us the confidence to make bold plans for the future.

13. If you were to recommend Clear Books to a friend or client, how would you describe us?
I do so all the time, to all the small businesses I know. I tell them how much Clear Books has helped my business and how I’m sure it would help theirs. It’s a shame people rarely listen.

14. How has Clear Books helped you save time?
