Clear Books provides an API service to its users, allowing for third party communication to pass information both into and out of the system.

What can the Clear Books API be used for?

  • Add sales and purchase invoices to the system

  • Void added invoices

  • Record payments and allocate them to invoices

  • Add customers and suppliers

  • Update customer and supplier information

  • Delete customers and suppliers

The most commonly used functions used in Clear Books are available through the API, but if you need it to do something that isn’t listed above please let us know.

RESTful API

The Clear Books RESTful API is the modern service to access Clear Books via API. This is available to developers upon request, please contact us for access to documentation, and to gain access to the developer sandbox.

SOAP API

The Clear Books legacy SOAP API is stable but not actively developed. Developers are encouraged to access the RESTful API.

Developers can continue to access the documentation and code examples for the legacy SOAP API.
