Who are you?

I’m Michelle. Some call me by my surname Choi or Choizilla.

What does your role at Clear Books entail?

I’m the design team leader, so my responsibilities mainly revolve around looking after the designers and front end developers in the Clear Books team, and just generally making sure my team is producing quality work and are happy when doing it.

Aside from the usual admin chores, I work on and manage projects going in and out for both marketing and the applications. I started off as a graphic designer in the office, but I still maintain a good level of web and graphic design work.

What’s the most exciting thing you/ your team are working on at the moment?

Visitors and customers will have seen our new responsive marketing website — we hope you like it. At the moment, we’re looking into improving Clear Books applications to give users a better experience overall.

What apps and tools can’t you live without and why?

I’ve started using Google Inbox which is an amazing product Google is trialling at the moment. I’ve also recently been gifted an Amazon Kindle and that comes with me everywhere. Other than that, my trusty pencil and Moleskine sketchbook for when ideas suddenly strike. Google Hangouts is also a great one for when you need to screen share and point at things.

When you’re not working at Clear Books, what do you enjoy doing?

Outside of work, you can find me playing League of Legends with my brothers and friends most evenings, which may explain the mild tomboy tendencies. Last year, I started an illustration shop where I sell my artwork — so I travel and exhibit my work at conventions and events on weekends.
