Today is Blog Action Day, an annual event which started back in 2007 with a simple idea in mind; to “unite the world’s bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day, in order to raise awareness and trigger a global discussion around an important issue that impacts us all.”

A simple idea, one which has sparked change globally in otherwise tough and complex goals. The focus of Blog Action Day this year is to raise awareness about access to safe, clean drinking water. Nearly 1 billion people lack access to clean water, which causes a litany of struggles, diseases and even death.

Inspired by this campaign, Clear Books decided to get involved and back blog action day. We pledged to donate £1.00 for every sign-up we received from October 4th to October 15th. As a result Clear Books was able to pledge £171.00. In addition, some of our users kindly helped us out and donated directly to our donation campaign giving us a total $350.00. Thanks to your help, we have helped 17 people to have access to clean, safe drinking water for a decade.

This was a great achievement to reach in just 11 days, but we think we can do even better. So we have set a goal to raise $2000, enough to help 200 people have access to clean water, but we are going to need your help. If you feel as strongly as we do about this issue, then please help us to reach our goal by making a donation and spreading the word to your friends and family.

Thank you for your support.
