Earlier this year, Clear Books sponsored the 2014 Christian Malford Scarecrow Trail, as part of our ongoing commitment to providing charitable support to causes in the UK.

The annual event raises money for Acorns pre-school and Friends of School – the school’s Parent Teacher Association – located in the village of Christian Malford, Wiltshire. This year, the event raised £3,700 which Acorns used to purchase new toys for the school. Friends of School used their share of the funds to refurbish and develop the outdoor learning environment at the school.

Clear Books’ involvement in the event comes through Claire Kennedy, a Clear Books partner accountant and former colleague of Tim Fouracre at KPMG, who helps organise the event. Our charity donations whenever possible go to causes within the Clear Books community so we were delighted to hear from Claire and support this event.

Over 1,200 people took part in the trail this year, which had a ‘Heroes and Villains’ theme for the scarecrows. We’ve included a few photos of some of the amazing efforts below – well done to all involved!
