We spoke to Ruth Fouracre, another of our great Community Exhibition speakers, about why she loves Clear Books and what attendees can expect from her talk on risk management…

The event, supported by Microsoft, takes place on 6th February in London. Get your tickets and learn more here: https://www.clearbooks.co.uk/events/community-exhibition/attend

Please tell us a bit about yourself

I am Clear Books’ General Counsel and Company Secretary.  I have been practising as a solicitor for almost seven years working both in private practice and in-house.  When I am not working, I am looking after my little boy, Charlie.

What will you be speaking about at the Clear Books Community Exhibition?

I will be speaking about risk management – how to protect yourself when starting a new business.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

Hearing from the other speakers – in particular Trevor’s ‘standing out from the crowd’ talk.  I don’t know much about marketing so it will be interesting to get some insight into how to promote your business.

What’s your favourite piece of business advice?

When you’re coming up with ideas for a new business, bounce them off people around you and listen to their advice.  This is something that Tim, founder of Clear Books (and my husband) always tells people.  It’s my favourite piece of advice because the reason he says it is because when he was coming up with lots of different ideas, Clear Books was the only one I thought was a good idea…

Why should small business owners book their ticket to CBCE now?

Aside from the fact that tickets are only £10 (which gets credited to your Clear Books account anyway) and there are free drinks at the end, it will be a really great forum for SMEs to network and to get some tips from a wide range of speakers.

What’s your favourite thing about Clear Books?

It’s a company full of great people who are genuinely enthusiastic about everything we do in order to build the company so that we can help small businesses save time so that they, in turn, can grow their own business.
