I am not a fan of a chain of command, line managers or bosses. All these words have connotations of self importance. As a company of 20 employees perhaps this is a minor consideration given the size of our team, however, I am keen to set up an organisational structure as we mean to go on; an inter-webbed organisational structure.

Recent corporate history is characterised by industrialism, production lines, corporate secrecy, bosses and managers, micro management, rules for employees and an organisational chain of command.

The inter-webbed organisation is the Internet, creativity, abundance of information, team leaders, autonomy, employee results and inter-webbed peer accountability.

How does this work in practice? Everyone is accountable to each other, there are no departmental barriers, there are no hierarchical barriers, company information is shared to all and everyone has an equal say in how things are run.
