This is the story of how I built my startup; Clear Books.

Clear Books may have begun in a similar way to your own business. In 2008 I packed in my career and started working from home as a bootstrapped one man band. I had no previous experience building a startup.

Fast forward to the beginning of 2013 and Clear Books is going from strength to strength, employs 20 people and has thousands of awesome customers.

More experienced entrepreneurs than me have made the mistakes I have already made and the mistakes I will probably make in the future. Learning from others to make informed decisions is crucial to succeeding.

Clear Books is here to help your business succeed – we’re the champions of small business. In the coming weeks I will delve into mistakes I have made, lessons learned and challenges faced.

I will be posting at least once a week on this blog and sending fortnightly emails with links to articles from the previous two weeks. If you’re not an existing Clear Books customer and would like to receive these emails or are interested in Clear Books online accounting software sign up to a free trial today!
